                            🌟 Welcome to the Virtual Race Fundraiser for the Oneonta Family YMCA! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

                            Get ready to lace up your shoes and join us for an exciting scenic route from Oneonta Family YMCA on Ford Ave to the Y Specialty Fitness at 1 FoxCare Drive. The best part? You can convert any activity to miles, so whether you are walking, running, cycling, dancing or or even practicing Yoga, every move counts towards the finish line. 

                            As you make your way through this virtual race, you'll have the opportunity to pass by our incredible corporate, and race, sponsors who have generously contributed to help support the Y and our mission. We love them for their impact on helping make a healthy community.

                            Get Ready for Fun, Prizes, and More!


                            With weekly prize drawings, awesome prizes for top fundraisers, and pop-up classes and events, there’s no way to lose in this race! Your $35 race entry fee unlocks a world of excitement and opportunities!


                            Did you know? The elementary-aged student who raises the most money will win an exclusive one-hour pool reservation at the Oneonta Family YMCA! But that’s not all—adults, you're in the game too! Ask your fitness instructor if they’ve got a special prize just for their class participants.


                            There are also prizes for those who post the most on social media, and with weekly drawings, everyone has a chance to win something amazing!


                            Not sure if you want to race? You can still be part of the fun! Reach out to knoorlader@oneontaymca.org to adopt a racer—help someone who’d love to compete but can’t afford to join financially.



                            Exercise anywhere you want. Then log the activity and see your avatar move across the route. Catch a Google Street View of the new virtual locale, then cheer your real fellow racers! Share your bib on social media! Brag about your streaks or longest mileage!

                            We have some handy guidelines:



                              1. Watch this video of Racery pro tips.

                              2. Complete your bio.

                              3. Update your passcode in settings.

                              4. We try to keep the playing field level, and conversions are based on effort, ie 1 hour cycling = ~1 hour swimming = ~1 hour tennis. Please log cycling minutes, not miles.

                              5. To delete a log, click its gear on the right.

                              6. Don’t like one type of email? Unsubscribe at the bottom of that email. Although, keep in mind some discounts are unlocked, and emailed to you, as you pass by their location. 

                              7. If you post on social media, please tag @oneontaymca and @raceryapp

                              8. We rely on the honor system. You don't have to use a device to prove your miles, a good map or watch suffices.

                              9. Only log intentional exercise please. Also, only log each workout once. If you take a dance class, don't also count the steps from that class in your total for the day. 

                              10. Attribute your exercise to the appropriate day—don't combine workouts from multiple days.

                              11. Only backdate logs for a race up to 3 days in the past.

                              12. Activities submitted after the race ends will not count toward race leaderboards.
